Welcome to Eurekan Academy!

We're a collaborative community focused on providing information about Eureka in Final Fantasy XIV. The wiki primarily focuses on:

We're coming from Light DC (EU) and run a community discord there, but our guides are available for anyone to check out. We've been active in Eureka since launch in Stormblood, but are updating the information with the current times (currently 6.x patches).

Frequently asked questions

Is leveling in Eureka solo possible?
Absolutely. It can be done really quickly too, if you're familiar with some logic of leveling in Eureka, so check out this guide.
How do I know which Eureka instance I am in (or if my instance is dead)?
You can't know with 100% certainty, but these days, usually only one instance is active (open, alive) on every data center. Open "player search" menu (it'll be renamed to "adventurers list" while in Eureka, but it's the same menu) while inside to see list of every player currently inside, and their timers. When someone new joins, their timer is 180m. You can use these timers to assume if the instance is new, old, locked (no new entries for a long while)...
How to know if a Eureka FATE NM is on cooldown?
The only way to know is to manually track it, and usually that is done via trackers that can be shared in shout chat. Don't be afraid to ask the instance. If the instance is fresh (check through player search menu), all of the FATEs are available.
Can Eureka instances be unlocked / locked deliberately?
No. Some common pidgeon superstitions are that they lock when BOSS NMs are killed, when many people join at once so system starts creating new ones, or after a set amount of hours. However, all of these have been tested many times and no such manipulation could have been confirmed.
BUNNY FATEs. What's that all about?
Bunnies will take you to a hidden treasure coffer. For loot information, check out this page (to be added). These FATEs are not good for leveling because they give you no experience. They are worth doing on later levels when you want to grind for specific items. Up to 24 players can get a bunny from each FATE, and you need to use the carrot (key item) to get information on where to coffer is. In instances that have both south and north bunny FATEs, loot is the same, only the coffer locations differ.
How do FATEs scale in Eureka?
The HP of the FATE bosses scales down to the number of players in the instance that are eligible for full rewards. So, if a level 3 FATE spawns, and there are 56 players in the instance, all level 3 or above, the FATE boss will be scaled to 56 players. With Echo (added in 5.1), it's a lot easier to kill the boss even if not everyone is present, but it's still recommended to wait for other players to join the FATE no matter who spawned it.
Do FATEs block other FATEs from spawning?
The short answer is: sometimes other FATEs pause other FATEs from spawning at the same time.

Long answer: in most cases, FATEs don't interact with each other, and in almost all of the cases, it's better to work on multiple FATE preps at once. If any FATE is being paused by another, but the spawning conditions are met, it will spawn as soon as the other is killed. This has even been observed in cases when weather conditions for the later FATE has technically stopped and it shouldn't be possible to spawn it anymore.

How much experience do I lose if I die? Can i delevel in Eureka?
You only lose experience if you chose to "return" to start, instead of asking for a raise/resurrection. How much experience you lose depends on your elemental level. You lose about 25% of your current elemental level and yes, you can delevel all the way down to level 10.
Bestiary says monster should be mutating / adapting, but it isn't. What is the problem?
For approximate chances, Pagos has lowest chance of mutation/adaptation (20-40%), Pyros a bit higher (40-70%), and Hydatos 100% chance, if conditions are met. Assuming you doublechecked conditions, few things can be happening. For one, be sure not to be stunning the enemies before they mutate. Second, don't kill them too quickly. They usually cast mutation/adaptation in 20-70% HP range. Third, enemies that have more lenient conditions for M/A tend to use these skills lest often. For example, Pagos Anubys can mutate at any time, so its chances are very low. If you can target an enemy that mutates during only 1-2 weather conditions, those should be better to target.
How do I farm logograms?
Chech the farming section of the logogram page.
What gear do I need to do Eureka / Baldesion Arsenal?
Generally speaking, all gear in Eureka/BA syncs down to ilvl 300, so anything above that level is fine. Because of how syncing works, the higher the ilvl, the better. Materia will get ignored because of the sync. If you get Kirin or Vermillion body, use it in Eureka/BA, but it's optional. For BA best in slot, check the gearing guide for BA.
