Eureka Anemos is the first instance out of four Eureka instances. The main weather affinity of the instance is wind and the zone boss to get the last material for the weapons and gear from is Pazuzu.

Since this instance is the start of the Eureka Campaign, the zone focuses on introducing Eurekan Mechanics like Elemental level and Magia Board to the player.

Once Elemental level 20 is reached, you can continue your journey to Eureka Pagos.

Getting Started

Once you finished the quest And We Shall Call It Eureka (Rhalgr's Reach via Galiena), you gain access to the first of four Eureka instances: Eureka Anemos.

While you usually join instances via the duty finder, you join Eureka instances via Rodney on Pier #1 in Kugane. When talking to him, you get different selections to choose from. By levelling up your Elemental Level, you gain access to the later instances of Eureka, which can be accessed just the same as Anemos.

Eureka works like an open zone, you can build parties inside, chat with people all over the instance and whisper people that are in the same instance as you. However, you cannot whisper outside the instance and while you are in one of the Eurekan instances you are shown as on duty in friend list and free company.

Once you entered the instance, you will find yourself in the main hub Port Surgate, where you find various NPCs, the Magia Melder and the Main Aetheryte of the instance. There will be a short quest, which wants you to talk to different folks around town to get you introduced to the various merchants and facilities, which will assist you on your journey and once you are done with that, you will have your first magicite for the Magia Board and youre ready to start your Eureka Adventure.

Traveling across Anemos

Since Patch 5.1 you are able to ride mounts in Eureka from the start, which makes traversing the lands a lot easier.

Once you reach level 9, you will be able to attune to both Aetherytes The Windtorn Cabin on the eastern side and The Abandoned Laboratory on the northwestern side.

While you cannot just teleport to an Aetheryte by clicking on it on the map or via the Teleport-Menu, you can use Return, which will put you back to Port Surgate.

NPCs

Expedition Chronicler

Upon talking to this NPC, you will be able to get summaries of the Eurekan Expedition, which brought you here in the first place. As you progress through the zones you will be able to unlock more and more records of the expeditions. Once unlocked, you will find information about Baldesion Arsenal in here too.

Gerolt

Well known from previous relic weapon and armor questlines, this NPC gives you information about and lets you upgrade your weapons and gear with crystals and materials collected from the zone, as well as exchange Anemos crystals for Protean crystals, which are needed for the upgrade and augment of relic gear and weapons. The table shows which items are needed for which step, please note that the gearpieces vary by name and prerequisite depending on job.

The armor you can upgrade in this zone is NOT needed for the elemental armor in later zones. As of this moment these armorpieces are only for glamour. The weapon however will be upgraded through all zones, which means if you want to reach the Eureka or Physeos stage of your weapon, you have to upgrade it all the way through Anemos, Pagos, Pyros and Hydatos.

The Forbidden Land, Eureka Before I continue, I feel compelled to stress that this is not the Eureka of legend - that is to say, a subterranean labyrinth containing ancient Allag's most terrible weapons. I would think that evident from the fact that we are on an island and outside, but some people are surprisingly daft...

The Forbidden Land, Eureka, is a mysterious and deadly island where the elemental forces are constantly in flux. It may be explored in parties of up to eight players, or solo. Adventurers who choose to brave the wilds of Eureka will find that their strength here is measured in their elemental level. Moreover, all equipped items will be subject to item level sync. Unlike instanced duties, a given region within Eureka may be occupied by up to 144 players, with whom you may choose to cooperate if you so desire!

Elemental Level The very elements are an enemy in Eureka, I fear. When braving these wilds, you must pay close attention to the fluctuations and alter your stratagems as necessary.

Your strength in Eureka is measured in your elemental level, which may be increased by defeating various enemies and gaining elemental experiance points. Your level and EXP accrued will be retained between visits - progress will not be lost when you depart Eureka. Please be advised that elemental EXP gained may be affected by the number of players in your party and the difficulty of the enemies you defeat.

Penalties incurred when KO'd. Aside the very real risk of death, should you fall in battle with one of the denizens of Eureka, the consequences may be more grievous than you expect.

When you are KO'd in the Forbidden Land, Eureka, you will lose elemental EXP. However, if you are revived by another player within ten minutes of beind KO'd, you will receive no elemental EXP penalty. Furthermore, if your current elemental level is five or below, you will not lose elemental EXP when KO'd. Please be advised that, if your elemental level is eleven or higher, this penalty may reduce your elemental EXP total below zero. Should this happen, you will lose an elemental level.

The fauna of Eureka. The warped aetheric currents of this island in turn warped its inhabitants. While they are more dangerous for it, a wary adventurer may find a way to turn their strengths into weaknesses.

Enemies encountered in the Forbidden Land, Eureka, are imbued with powers aspected to a particular element. This elemental aspect is indicated by an icon to the left of their display names. When engaging an enemy in battle, it may be prudent to alter your tactics accordingly.

Notorious monsters. Beasts described as such are not unique in Eureka. As is the case with their counterparts elsewhere, you will want to enlist the support of others, as hunting them down on your own is ill-advised.

In the Forbidden Land, Eureka, you may encounter especially powerful enemies called notorious monsters. You would do well to engage these enemies together with other adventurers if you wish to defeat them. Some notorious monsters will not appear unless certain conditions are met. Speak with other adventurers and share information that you might determine what these conditions are.

Rewards obtained from combat. Though the laws of nature have been twisted in Eureka, one maxim remains true: with great risk comes great reward. In particular, there is a type of crystal which we have been instructed to seek out at all costs...

When you defeat enemies in battle, you may receive a variety of rewards. Among these possible rewards are protean crystals, which may be used to strengthen and enhance Eureka gear.

EXP chains. Adventurers are rather fond of their phrases, are they not? I believe what you describe is akin to when one descends into a killing frenzy or some such...

Upon defeating an enemy, you will have a limited window in which you may attempt to defeat another. If successful, you will initiate an EXP chain. Defeating subsequent enemies while an EXP chain is active will earn you additional elemental EXP. You will also have an increased chance to receive rewards, as well as higher quantities of said rewards.

Cooperating with other adventurers. Well, that is just common sense, I would like to think. There are limits to what even an experienced adventurer like you can accomplish, so if you seek to take on even greater challenges, why not join with others in order to do so?

Unlike in instanced duties, in the Forbidden Land, Eureka, you may form and leave parties with other players at will. You may also use the Adventurer List to seek out players close in elemental level to form parties and explore Eureka together.

Basic usage of the magia board. The magia board is a simple, elegant device created by Miss Krile and Gerolt to aid adventurers in their exploration of Eureka...

The magia board can be used in conjunction with magicite to strengthen your affinity with the six elements while exploring the Forbidden Land, Eureka. Stronger affinity within a given element will increase the damage you deal certain enemies, as well as reduce the damage you receive from others. You may configure your magia board by affixing or removing magicite with the use of a magia melder, which can be found in Port Surgate and other encampments.

Spinning the magia board. Miss Krile and Gerolt wisely understood that no amount of preparation could account for the realities one faces in the field. To that end, they designed the magia board so that a user could make minor adjustments without the aid of a magia melder when necessary...

By spinning a magia board, you can quickly change your elemental affinities. However, changing your affinities via this method consumes one unit of magia aether. This type of aether gradually accumulates over time, and is restored in its entirety when using a magia melder.

Strengthening elemental aspects. Understanding the relationship between the six elements is key to making the most of the magia board. You cannot well expect to defeat your enemies if you do not know how to exploit their weaknesses, now can you?

The six elements are best understood as two balanced sets: Fire is strong versus ice, ice versus wind, and wind versus fire. Lightning is strong versus water, water versus earth, and earth versus lightning. For example, if you wish to deal more damage to an enemy aspected to fire, you should use your magia board to strengthen your affinity to wind. However, should you wish to suffer less damage when attacked by that same enemy, you should use your magia board to strengthen your affinity to its aspect - in this case, defend against fire with fire. For ease of understanding, the affinities that will strengthen your attacks or your defense are indicated on your magia board when targeting an enemy.

Fates

Anemos map with all monsters and Fates.

All Fates in the Eureka Instances are Notorious Monsters (NM). Usually those fates are spawned by defeating a specific enemy or enemy type and if at least 120 minutes have passed since the Fate was last active. Some Fates have specific conditions which have to be met in order to be spawned, or the monsters which are needed to spawn the fate might have conditions as well. A map of all Fates in Eureka Anemos can be found to the right side of this text.

The completion of Fates in Eureka Anemos will reward the player with Elemental EXP, Anemos Lockboxes and Anemos Crystals. Some Fates have added special drops, like minions or equipment.

To keep track of the instance and the Fates within, it is recommended to use a so called Tracker. Not only does it make the coordination of an instance easier but it will also help to check quickly, which Fates can be spawned, which ones will soon be spawnable and which conditions will be met soon.

Zone boss: Pazuzu

Pazuzu, final boss of Eureka Anemos

The last notorious monster of the instance is Pazuzu, which will drop Pazuzu's Feathers for upgrading the Weapons to the Anemos Weapon. In order to do the upgrade you need 3 Feathers in total, which can either be dropped by the Fate or bought for 300 Protean Crystals. In order to get those drops from the Fate, you have to have an elemental level of 19 or higher, otherwise you wont get the drop.

Pazuzu needs to be prepped during night, because he requires wraiths to be killed. He himself can spawn during Gales weather, so keep an eye out for the night before gales.

Abilities

  • Boon Void: Randomly targets a player and delivers a dodgeable mini AOE
  • Camisado: Tank Buster
  • Dread Wind: Three-part AOE. Will likely bring raid to low HP and KO players without shields below Level 18. For this ability, switch to defensive magia.
  • Gale Canon: Long distance rectangle attack extending from the front of the boss.
  • Cloud of Locusts: AOE centered around the boss (get out of melee range to avoid)
  • Plague of Locusts: Donut AOE centered around the boss (move into melee range to avoid)
  • Dark Aero: Spawns green clouds that randomly shoot out AOE using "Dark Aero"
  • Tartarean Storm: Spawns tornados which need to be avoided
  • Adds will spawn as well that need to be picked up and brought down.

Anemos Loot Table

Any loot from Anemos drops from Anemos Lockboxes, or mob kills. Anemos Lockboxes are rewarded for a successful comletion of the FATE(NM). Once acquired, the Expedition Lockpick in Port Surgate (or any other hub) or R'ghonati in Kugane at Pier #1 can open these. In addition, specific FATEs(NM) have rare drops from their respective bosses as well.

You can check our page on Anemos loot table here.
