Eureka Hydatos is the fourth and final Eureka Instance. The main weather affinity of the instance is Water and the zone boss to get the last material for the weapon from is Provenance Watcher.

Once elemental level 60 is reached, you can unlock The Baldesion Arsenal.

Getting Started

Once the story of Eureka Pyros has been completed, you will get the quest "And We Shall Call It Hydatos" which leads you back to Rodney at Pier #1 in Kugane. Here you will unlock the next step of the Eureka Journey: Eureka Hydatos.

When entering Eureka Hydatos via Rodney, you will find yourself in the base camp of this zone called Central Point. Once again, various NPCs can be found here, as well as the main Aetheryte.

Just as in Pyros, monsters are able to mutate or adapt, for significantly more EXP gains and for possible drops of Moisture-Warped Lockboxes.

Traveling across Hydatos

Since Patch 5.1 you are able to ride mounts in Eureka from the start, which makes traversing the lands a lot easier.

Upon reaching level 51, you will be able to attune to the Aetheryte on the southwestern side of Hydatos, called Unverified Research. At level 55 the eastern Aetheryte The Dormitory will become available and complete all connections.

Just as in previous zones, Aetherytes can be used to travel between them, but they cannot be ported to via map or Teleport-Menu. However, using Return will bring you back to Central Point.

Hydatos' layout characteristic is that, western side of the zone is filled with lower level mobs (51 to 59), while eastern side of the zone is filled with higher level mobs (60 to 65). Southernmost side of the zone is completely devoid of mobs, so it can be used to travel safely (especially if you are trying to get to aetherytes). Travelling across Hydatos is much easier compared to previous zones as it is a flat zone, and you don't have to pass through narrow corridors, hallways etc. filled with mobs to get to somewhere.

Sprite Island

Sprite Island.png

In Hydatos, there is an island to the southeast near the Eastern Columns. On this island level 65 sprites spawn depending on current weather (Fair Skies = no sprites). This island is used for Reflect levelling from 58 to 60. It is also a good source for Conceptual (Showers, Thunderstorm) and Fundamental (Snow, Gloom) Logograms.

Quest Progression

On Entry

Talk to Krile and after the cutscene, talk to Gerolt. After another cutscene, speak again with Krile. Upon finishing the quest, you can speak with Gerolt again to begin purchasing the Hydatos weapons; you must have a matching, finished Pyros weapon to do so.

Level 51

Talk to Krile first. Head to The Central Columns at X:20.3 Y:24.8 and talk to Krile again. Head south to The Val River Source X:25.7 Y:30.7 to find the Pooled Aether. Return to the The Central Columns and then speak to Krile.

Level 54

Talk to Krile. Head to The Western Columns at X:10.6 Y:29.6 and talk to Krile again. Then go to The West Val River Bank X:6.5 Y:15.7 to find the Pooled Aether after walking up the large column. Return to The Western Columns at X:10.6 Y:29.6 and talk to Krile.

Level 57

Talk to Krile at the The Western Columns at X:10.6 Y:29.6. Then head east to The Eastern Columns at X:31.3 Y:27.2 and talk to Krile again. Head north to The East Val River Bank at X:30.8 Y:14.4 to find the Pooled Aether. Return to The Eastern Columns at X:31.3 Y:27.2 and talk to Krile.

Level 60

Talk to Krile at the The Eastern Columns at X:31.3 Y:27.2, then head to The Aetherbridge Foundation at X:24.0 Y:30.6 and talk to Krile again. Head into the Headquarters Entrance and talk to Krile, then talk to her again in the Board Room. Interact with the Scattered Tomes and talk to Krile again for a few lengthy cutscenes. Choose between Krile's path (sealing) or that of Ejika Tsunjika (destruction) for another cutscene. Return to Central Point and talk to Ejika Tsunjika (when doing Krile's path) or Krile (when doing Ejika's path) to complete the quest.

You can now talk to Expedition Scholar and unlock The Baldesion Arsenal.

Enemy Characteristics

In Pyros and Hydatos, enemies have passive properties attached to their element.

  • Wind: Increased evasion, causing your attacks to miss
  • Ice: Increased HP
  • Fire: Deal increased damage
  • Water: Can't be stunned
  • Lightning: Can't be paralysed
  • Earth: Can't be heavied or slowed

Fates

Hydatos general map.jpg

All Fates in the Eureka Instances are Notorious Monsters (NM). Usually those fates are spawned by defeating a specific enemy or enemy type and if at least 120 minutes have passed since the Fate was last active. Some Fates have specific conditions which have to be met in order to be spawned, or the monsters which are needed to spawn the fate might have conditions as well. A map of all Fates in Eureka Hydatos can be found to the right side of this text. The completion of Fates in Eureka Hydatos will reward the player with Elemental EXP, Hydatos Lockboxes and Hydatos Crystals. Some Fates have added special drops like extra magicite items.

To keep track of the instance and the Fates within, it is recommended to use a so called Tracker. Not only does it make the coordination of an instance easier but it will also help to check quickly, which Fates can be spawned, which ones will soon be spawnable and which conditions will be met soon.

Bunny Fate

Just as in Pagos and Pyros , Bunny Fates exist in Hydatos as well. These Fates always involve saving Happy Bunnies from imminent danger. While fighting the Fate, the bunnies will help the player in one way or another, by healing them or spawning AOEs which will give a damage buff. Once the Fate is defeated and a Gold Rating is achieved, the player will have a bunny following them, which will eventually lead them to a treasure, when interacted with a Lucky Carrot. When the Carrot is used, you will receive a prompt, which wants you to move into a specific direction and once reached the location, a treasure will be unveiled. These treasures can have mounts in them, along with some other things.

Other than Notorious Monsters, these Fates do not have to be spawned by killing enemies. The Fate will spawn after a set timer once all Bunny Treasures from the previous Fate have either been found or the bunnies have been discarded or killed.

Expanding your Logos action slots from 3 to 6

Possible reward from a silver bunny chest in Hydatos is an item called "Aethertight flask". If you take this to Expedition Alchemist NPC in the base, he'll expand your logos actions inventory by 1 slot. This can be done a maximum 3 times (so you end up with 6 slots, instead of the original 3).

Zone Boss: Provenance Watcher

The last Notorious Monster of Hydatos is Provenance Watcher aka PW, which will drop Crystalline Scale in order to upgrade your relic weapon to Eureka Weapon version. You will need 5 Crystalline Scales in total to upgrade your weapon, and you need to be at least elemental level 59 to get the drop.

Boss abilities

He starts in fire element, but later changes to ice. It’s good to start the battle with /magiaauto macro, or remember to switch elements as he changes. (REFORGE is when he switches)

  • The Scarlet Price: A single target tankbuster.
  • The Scarlet Whisper: Frontal cleave, basically he pukes fire in front. Move to the sides/behind
  • Ice and Levin: Boss will call down little AoE's. Dodge them and go inside his hitbox.
  • Ice and Wind: Boss summons ice spikes and bigger aoes that do wind damage and blow you up to the air . Avoid all.
  • Diffractive break: Raidwide AoE, proximity-based so go a bit further.
  • Hot tail: A big line aoe from the front and back. Move to flanks (he does it twice in a row)
  • Akh morn: A hard, multi-hitting tankbuser, can be shared.
  • When he flies away, look where his copies are, they will run through the arena in a straight line. You can hide on the bridge outside of fate bounds, or find a safe area.

Hydatos Loot Table

Just as previous zones, Hydatos also has potential goodie drops from lockboxes, FATEs (NM), and random mob kills. For each FATE (NM) completion, you will get Hydatos Lockboxes as a reward. For higher level mutated mob kills, you will get special lockboxes called Moisture-warped Lockbox with additional loot drops. You can exchange these boxes to Expedition Lockpick in base or R'ghonati in Kugane at Pier #1. Some of the FATEs(NM) have rare drops from bosses as well.

You can check our page on Hydatos loot table here.
