When wandering through the lands of Eureka Pyros, you might encounter Sleeping Dragons or Flame Void Dragons. These monsters can be very dangerous especially to low levelled players. In order to avoid fighting them or waking them up, you can swap from normal running to walking and just walk past them. This also works on a mount.

Eureka Pyros is the third out of the four Eureka instances. The main weather affinity of the instance is Fire and the zone boss to get the last material for the weapon from is Penthesilea.
Once Elemental level 50 is reached, you can continue your journey to Eureka Hydatos.

Getting Started

Once the story of Eureka Pagos has been completed, you will get the quest And We Shall Call It Pyros which leads you back to Rodney at Pier #1 in Kugane. Here you will unlock the next step of the Eureka Journey: Eureka Pyros.

When entering Eureka Pyros via Rodney, you will find yourself in the main encampment of this zone called Northpoint. Once again, various NPCs can be found here, as well as the main Aetheryte.

Just like Eureka Pagos, you will farm Vitiated Aether with various activities throughout the instance, once you have finished your Pyros weapon. This however, is not needed to upgrade your weapon, but instead gives you the ability to reroll the Stats on your weapon. And just as in Pagos as well, monsters are able to mutate or adapt, for significantly more EXP gains and for possible drops of Heat-Warped Lockboxes.

Traveling across Pyros

Since Patch 5.1 you are able to ride mounts in Eureka from the start, which makes traversing the lands a lot easier.

Upon reaching level 37, you will be able to attune to the Aetheryte on the southern side of Pyros, called The Dragon Star Observatory. At level 39 the center Aetheryte The Firing Chamber will become available and at level 41 the northwestern Aetheryte Carbonatite Quarry completes all connections.

Just as in previous zones, Aetherytes can be used to travel between them, but they cannot be ported to via map or Teleport-Menu. However, using Return will bring you back to Northpoint.

When wandering through the lands of Eureka Pyros, you might encounter Sleeping Dragons or Flame Void Dragons. In order to avoid fighting them or waking them up, you can swap from normal running to walking and just walk past them. This also works on a mount.

For the layout of Pyros its characteristic, that the whole area is split into two sections. One part at the south of the zone is dominated by ice and snow, and most of it is the lower level area. On the north side of the zone, you will find mostly flames and lava, which indicates the higher level of the zone. However, southwest of the zone, there are high level areas with level 55 monsters, so be aware if you go there.

Enemy Characteristics

In Pyros and Hydatos, enemies have passive properties attached to their element.

  • Wind: Increased evasion, causing your attacks to miss
  • Ice: Increased HP
  • Fire: Deal increased damage
  • Water: Can't be stunned
  • Lightning: Can't be paralysed
  • Earth: Can't be heavied or slowed

Light

Pagos Vitiated Aether Bar, looks just the same as in Pyros

Upon finishing your first Pyros Weapon, you will unlock Light, as you already know from Pagos. Underneath your Duty Information, where you can see how long your timer lasts, you now can find a bar, representative for how much Light you have already collected. On the right side you can see an example, how this might look.

Light is awarded at a fixed rate as fate rewards or randomly from enemies. You have a higher change of getting light from enemies the more EXP you get, which means targetting mobs of a higher level than you and stacking experience buffs is recommended, e.g. Pyros Elemental (Fairy Buff) and Potion of Harmony.

The kettle can hold a maximum of 9 Light at a time. You can see a small number above your light bar, which indicates how much Light is currently accumulated in the kettle. Once the kettle reaches 9 Light, you will not be able to collect any more. In order to empty your kettle and to turn the Light into Smoldering Protean Crystals you want to visit the forge, which is located at The Partisan's Proof at 22.2-6.0. The easiest way to go there is teleporting to The Firing Chamber, then heading pretty much straigt north.

When you are inside the cave, simply interact with the forge and all your collected Light will be exchanged for Smoldering Protean Crystals and you can continue collecting more Light.

Light Farm

There are multiple ways to collect light throughout Eureka Pyros. Check our guide to figure out which method works out best for you.

Fates

All Fates in the Eureka Instances are Notorious Monsters (NM). Usually those fates are spawned by defeating a specific enemy or enemy type and if at least 120 minutes have passed since the Fate was last active. Some Fates have specific conditions which have to be met in order to be spawned, or the monsters which are needed to spawn the fate might have conditions as well. A map of all Fates in Eureka Pyros can be found to the right side of this text.

The completion of Fates in Eureka Pyros will reward the player with Elemental EXP, Vitiated Aether (Light), Pyros Lockboxes and Pyros Crystals. Some Fates have added special drops, like minions or equipment.

To keep track of the instance and the Fates within, it is recommended to use a so called Tracker. Not only does it make the coordination of an instance easier but it will also help to check quickly, which Fates can be spawned, which ones will soon be spawnable and which conditions will be met soon.

Bunny Fates

Just as in Pagos, Bunny Fates exist in Pyros as well. These Fates always involve saving Happy Bunnies from imminent danger. While fighting the Fate, the bunnies will help the player in one way or another, by healing them or spawning AOEs which will give a damage buff. Once the Fate is defeated and a Gold Rating is achieved, the player will have a bunny following them, which will eventually lead them to a treasure, when interacted with a Lucky Carrot. When the Carrot is used, you will receive a prompt, which wants you to move into a specific direction and once reached the location, a treasure will be unveiled. These treasures can have minions or mounts in them, along with some other things.

Other than Notorious Monsters, these Fates do not have to be spawned by killing enemies. The Fate will spawn after a set timer once all Bunny Treasures from the previous Fate have either been found or the bunnies have been discarded or killed.

Zone boss: Penthesilea

Penthesilea, the final boss of Eureka Pyros

The last notorious monster of the instance is Penthesilea, which will drop Penthesilea's Flame for upgrading the Weapons to the Pyros Weapon. In order to do the upgrade you need 5 Flames in total, which can either be dropped by the Fate or bought for 50 Pyros Crystals. In order to get those drops from the Fate, you have to have an elemental level of 49 or higher, otherwise you wont get the drop.

Penthesilea can be prepped at any time, since Val Bloodgliders are always present. However, the Fate will only pop during Heat Waves.

Abilities

  • Dramatic Flare: targets a random player for an AoE - place it nearby other players to ease the next mechanic. There also appear 3 static ground AoEs, just dodge as necessary.
  • Center of Convection: the boss jumps to the person targetted by Dramatic Flare and does a huge Donut Aoe around her. Move into her hitbox for the safespot.
  • Thrown Kiss: single target Tankbuster
  • Tongues of Flame: Frontal line AoE
  • Ardent Caress: raidwide damage, enough to kill anyone not level 50
  • Rain of Ere: random person gets targetted by ground AoE, a bit larger than Dramatic Flare. The AoE follows the person slowly, reappearing 3 times.
  • Fire Flies: summons butterfly adds that need to be dealt with, as they appear, they start casting mutation. During this time they do not attack and be killed of easily. After the mutate they become a nuisance, try to kill them before or get them as low as possible.

Pyros Loot Table

Each successful completion of a FATE (NM) will reward you with Pyros Lockboxes. Just like in Pagos, certain mobs in Pyros mutate, and have a chance to drop so called Heat-warped Lockboxes. You can exchange these boxes to Expedition Lockpick in base or R'ghonati in Kugane at Pier #1. Bunny fates also exist in Pyros as well, which will lead you to either bronze, silver, or gold chests.

You can check our page on Pyros loot table here.
