What is the Baldesion Arsenal?
The Baldesion Arsenal (BA) is a 56-man combat instance that takes place inside Hydatos. It is an unforgiving place, where raising is limited, and every hit could be fatal. It scales down to 24 players, so it's possible to do with less than 56 players.
6.x patch state of BA: Despite not having echo added to this date, BA is significantly easier compared to how it was in 4.x and 5.x patches, due to various job changes and gear differences. It's still punishing in terms of raising, but DPS checks are significantly easier to achieve.
Entrance to the Baldesion Arsenal
Entrance into the Baldesion Arsenal can happen after getting the buff from Ovni fate (buff called Aetherially Primed). To get the buff, you need to have:
- Hydatos questline finished,
- be elemental level 60 and
- get the gold rating from the FATE.
3 minutes after Ovni's death, 48 blue portals will spawn around pre-determined positions on the map.
Aetherial Nodes
- Unstable Aetheric Nodes (Blue Portals): These cannot be entered without having an Aetheric Stabilizer in your inventory. Usually, it's NOT recommended to use the stabilizers to enter Baldesion Arsenal on Eurekan Academy runs, so don't bother making one.
- Stable Aetheric Nodes (Red Portals): 3 minutes after that, the blue portals will disappear, and red, stabilised portals will appear in the same predetermined positions. These do not require an Aetheric Stabilizer, and these are usually used for groups to enter BA for free.
Later, when the Support fate is spawned and killed, the same process will happen, but with only 8 portals instead, joining the last group to the main expedition force, and bringing the total number of people to 56.
For runs with the Eurekan Academy, we do not use Aetheric Stabilizers to enter blue portals unless the run itself dictates that we do. For Support portals, ask the party lead for Support if it's okay to use an Aetheric Stabilizer, and go from there.
Preparation and Logos Actions
Inside Baldesion Arsenal, players cannot be raised by normal means. There are only 3 ways to be resurrected inside:
- Logos action Spirit of the Remembered, which provides 70% chance of auto-revival upon KO
- Healer logos action Sacrifice L, giving the healer who used it an uncleansable Doom debuff, causing them to die
- Healer Limit Break 3
As such, it is important to always have a Spirit of the Remembered active. Moreover there will be traps inside, which can only be revealed by logos action Perception L, and last two bosses will require usage of offensive logos actions to be able to meet the DPS checks. Prepare your Spirit of the Remembered and an offensive Wisdom for your role beforehand.
For what logos actions to use, check Newbie Logos Actions Guide and Advanced Logos Actions Guide.
For gear, Kirin's Osode (Tanks, Melee, Physical Ranged) or Vermillion Cloak (Healers, Casters) is very useful for your first run, if you don't have them you should just use the best gear you have available. For more explanation about gearing and optimisation check the BA Gearing Guide.
