Sacrifice L combined with Spirit of the Remembered is the main method of reviving KO'd characters inside the Baldesion Arsenal. Normal reviving actions do not work inside the Baldesion Arsenal.
How to use Sacrifice L in a run
Before using it, yell on chat who are using it on so other healers also do not swap off their plates and waste actions. In general it goes like this:
- Swap to your Spirit + Sacrifice plate
- Target the dead person and use Sacrifice L on them
- Wait for your Doom debuff to finish and see if your Spirit procs
- If you proc, pop another Spirit, if not another healer will use Sacrifice on you
- If you need to Sacrifice again then you can stay in the same set, activate the Spirit and then use another charge of the Sacrifice L. After this second Sac you will have to swap to another set to refresh Spirit again if more Sacs are still needed.
- Continue using Sacrifice until everyone's up
- When everyone's up, go back to your Wisdom plate
Doom Cheese/Trick
One way you can get around the Doom debuff on Sacrifice L is to be on a black screen or a cutscene when the debuff reaches zero seconds.
In a BA run the most common way this is done is through the use of the portal we find in the Elemental Rooms. If someone has died in the hallway, it may be possible to 'cheese' the Doom debuff if the person being sacced's body is close enough to the portal.
For this to work the person using Sacrifice L should try to go through the portal at about 3 seconds left on their Doom debuff. That way they will be in the black loading screen when it reaches zero and will not be affected by the debuff.
Another way to use this in a run is at the end of the run on the Ozma platform after Ozma is dead when it's safe to jump off the platform. If there are bodies needing picked up at the end of the run you can Sacrifice then jump off the Ozma platform with about 3-4 seconds left on your debuff, then it will reach zero while you're in the black screen before appearing safely back on platform at the arena entrance.
Combat Sacrifice (HEAVILY DISCOURAGED)
On normal circumstances, you should never be using Sacrifice L during a fight. If you decide to use it and your spirit doesn't proc, you jeopardise wiping your entire group by yourself. As a matter of fact, combat saccing is heavily discouraged no matter what type of run it is, however there is one circumstance you can combat sac and help another person get their clear. Beware that this might go very wrong and cost you (or your group) the clear.
During Ozma, if one of your party members who still needs the clear is dead, you can save them from getting sucked out by using Sacrifice at a very specific time for your Doom debuff to last long enough so that you will die right after Black Hole. The process goes like this:
- Make sure you are on a Black Hole buffer first
- Right before the last auto attack change to Sacrifice plate and immediately use Sacrifice on the dead target after auto goes off
- Rescue the dead player to a Black Hole Buffer
This way your Doom debuff will long last enough so that you will die after Black Hole and won't get sucked out. However if your Spirit doesn't proc, your group will be without a healer rest of the fight, which is objectively worse than losing a non-healer. A case where it can be useful is if you have a co-healer whom you trust to heal the rest of the fight should your Spirit doesn't proc.
Again, combat saccing is heavily discouraged in any circumstance and should never be done unless you know what you are doing.
